Melissa Warner

Melissa Warner is an Ontario Certified Teacher, and graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University. She completed a double major in both Music Education and Composition, and a minor in History. 

Melissa is an alumnus of the Durham Girls’ Choir from 2004-2009. During her years as a chorister with the DGC, she was a two-time recipient of the Soprano Section Award and was the recipient of the Director’s Scholarship in 2009. 

Melissa’s musical accomplishments over the years include winning three concerto competitions, and receiving first place at the OMFA Provincials. She received her first composition commission in June 2014 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of St. Martin’s Anglican Church in Pickering, Ontario. 

She is currently the principal oboist with the Durham Chamber Orchestra, and performs regularly with various ensembles throughout the GTA. Along with her interests in music, Melissa enjoys spending her spare time teaching private oboe lessons and Zumba® classes a few days per week, in addition to her full-time teaching position with the Durham District School Board.

Jacqueline McIntyre 

Jacqueline has been a proud member of Durham Region's musical community since she made her debut in Henry St. High School's talent show so many years ago. This launched a passion for music that took her to Queen's University to complete her Bachelor of Music degree in piano and voice and a love for teaching inspired her to complete her Bachelor of Education degree with York University. 

Jacqueline has enjoyed performing in many operatic roles with such companies as Toronto City Opera, Opera by Request and Canadian Folks Opera as well as many solo recital performances. 

She teaches piano and voice through her home studio in Oshawa boasting many fine performers and is excited to be one of the newest members of the Durham Girls Choir's artistic team.
