“I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity, to see the faces of real people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race when I see them cooperating like that.”
— Paul McCartney

Durham Girls Choir produced this cover of 'Light A Candle for Peace' in a virtual and physically distanced environment to honour Canada’s veterans for Remembrance Day. The choristers wanted their first recording of the season to be dedicated to the men and women who sacrificed their lives to bring us freedom.

Composed by Shelly Murley, this song reminds us of the importance of peace, love, friendship, and compassion during isolation. To our veterans, we are thinking of you and send this song as a gift to you. We shall always remember.

In memory of Wilmer Fraser who passed away on November 11, 1975, an Indigenous Veteran.
